We originally booked the hotel (via Groupon) in June but had to cancel due to me being diagnosed with a serious illness – the reception staff couldn’t have been more helpful and extended the voucher so that we could re-book to take into account my treatment plan. I regularly check TA and so took note of the advice to upgrade so called the hotel a couple of weeks before our arrival to do so – only to find out that they’d already done it for us! We arrived on the Friday afternoon and had no problems at all with check in and the room was beautiful – just what we needed for what has been our only holiday (if a 2 day break can classify as such!!!) this year. We ate in the restaurant on the first evening and as we’re both quite fussy eaters, asked if we could just have plain veggies instead of the rather exotic (to us) fare that was included – again, no problem at all. After being a bit too hot on the first night (to due with my treatment and not the room temperature) I asked for an electric fan which arrived within a couple of minutes of us getting back to our room!
We both had a fantastic time and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again – all the staff we encountered were friendly and we really couldn’t have had better service so we’d like to say a great big thanks to everyone for making our stay so special.
ps. unfortunately we couldn’t actually use the spa facilities but for some reason the grading system won’t let me not say anything so I’ve decided to go with excellent – which it probably is!!!

I attended the Whitewater’s Murder Mystery event on Saturday evening. This was an exceptionally good evening in every respect.
The setting in the wonderful Riverside restaurant was glorious and the food was just about as good as it can get – there is not a better hotel in the area as far as the food is concerned – top marks to their chef.
The actual “Murder” was expertly staged by After Dark productions – who managed to create a fun filled evening which was entertaining and engaging.
Perhaps best of all was the overall organisation which managed to dovetail the four courses of the superb meal with the “action” – the evening flew by and everyone I spoke to at the end had thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience .
Top marks to the Whitewater team for a truly wonderful evening. Lets hope we can have some more of these great events in this truly exceptional venue.
Thanks to all concerned. Now please somebody; take these bloody scissors out of my back!!!

Stayed for a weekend whilst my husband was here on business. Took the kids so needed two rooms. Booked late so ended up getting a great deal and upgrade to an Executive room and the Four Poster room, 204 and 205. The four poster room was huge, stylish and full of character with spa bath. The executive room was lovely with its own little balcony overlooking the river, also with spa bath. The spa facilities were great, food excellent and hospitality outstanding. A great find and would definately stay again!

We stayed on a Friday night as a hen do party of 11 girls. We booked a spa package and we thought it was fantastic. We were able to check in early which was great as we had camped the night before! All staff were lovely and helpful. We booked spa treatments for 2pm and the spa staff were polite, friendly and professional (doesn’t matter if they are young!) They split us into two groups so we were able to use the facilities while we waited for others to finish their treatments. The rooms were modern and stylish. We made good use of the happy hour at the Dolly Blue Bar – this was a great idea as hotel bars can be expensive. Then we enjoyed a three course meal with a complimentary refresher course. We were put on one table and stayed in the restaurant until gone half 11. Again, the restaurant staff were amazing. In the morning, we enjoyed the breakfast and were sad to leave. Would love to stay again – thank you!!

We have stayed at this hotel 3 times and loved it so much we chose it as our venue to get married at. The views are amazing with the river rapids and the steam train which passes by every so often. The rooms are very comfortable and finished to a very high standard. The spa and gym complete with outdoor jacuzzi and large swimming pool is free to use for the duration of your stay. The food is excellent the evening meal is very competitively priced for such a high standard locallysourced produce menu. And the best thing overall for this hotel is the staff, nothing was to much trouble for them they looked after everyone extremley well a special mention to Charlie the assistant manager who went out of her way to make sure everything flowed perfectly. If your looking for a relaxing scenic break or an ideal wedding venue then look no further than the Whitewater Hotel and Spa you will not be dissapointed.
